What is Guiding Steps?
With over 10 years of experience working across the SEND landscape, I bring a deep, practical understanding of how to secure the right support for children with a wide range of needs. My background spans roles as a primary teacher, SENDCo, and specialist practitioner, alongside valuable experience working closely with Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists. This blend of classroom insight and specialist knowledge allows me to see the whole picture — the child, the family, and the system around them.
Based in Lancashire, I have successfully navigated both North East and North West local authorities, giving me a strong grasp of regional processes and expectations. I am highly experienced in applying for and interpreting EHCPs, guiding families and schools through each step with clarity and confidence. Whether it’s understanding the legal framework, preparing evidence, or communicating with the local authority, I offer calm, informed support throughout.
